Join us for a special screening of The Juilliard Experiment, a new film by Mark Kidel.

The film reveals French artist Fabienne Verdier’s extraordinary experiments with music and painting at the Juilliard Performing Arts School in New York, where she would ‘try to paint sound’.

The Juilliard Experiment shows how world-leading musicians at Juilliard performed as Verdier created work in direct response to the music, losing all sense of aesthetic control in pursuit of its essential rhythm.

Director Mark Kidel will introduce the film, offering behind-the-scenes insight to the making of the film.

This intimate screening has been organised to follow Verdier’s first ever UK solo show Rhythms and Reflections (until 4 February 2017) at Waddington Custot in London.
