Join Libreria for what promises to be a funny and engaging conversation about the ideas of Lars’ new novel, My Weil.

The story follows a group of young PhD students specialising in the new subject Disaster Studies at an inferior university in Manchester, who are forced to reconsider their cynicism when they confront a new student who, remarkably, has the same name as the 20th Century Catholic philosopher, Simone Weil.

About our guests:

Lars Iyer is a Reader in Creative Writing at Newcastle University, where he was formerly a longtime lecturer in philosophy. He is the author of the Spurious Trilogy, and more recently the widely acclaimed Wittgenstein Jr., and Nietzsche and the Burbs. 

Jon Day is a writer, critic and academic. He teaches at King’s College London and writes for the London Review of Books and many other publications.
