About the speakers:

George Makari is a psychiatrist, historian, and author of Soul Machine: The Invention of the Modern Mind. He is Director of the DeWitt Wallace Institute and Professor of Psychiatry at Weill Cornell Medical College.

Zia Haider Rahman is a writer, broadcaster and documentary maker. His novel In the Light of What We Know was published in 2014 to international critical acclaim and awarded Britain’s oldest literary prize, the James Tait Black Memorial Prize.
