Francesca Sanna’s picture book follows a family in search of a safe place to live. The beautifully illustrated book addresses the reasons people leave their homes and how hard those journeys can be. It is a sensitive portrayal of the pressures on families all over the world, and how we need to rely on each other for strength in times of darkness.
The Journey has been shortlisted for the prestigious Waterstones Children’s Prize, longlisted for the Kate Greenaway Medal and endorsed by Amnesty International to help spread the message of love and hope to children and parents. Join us in Libreria on Mother’s Day with Francesca Sanna to hear her read her book and discuss, using Amnesty International teaching aids, themes of motherly love, migration and humanity.
