Second Home, Spitalfields LibreriaTypographia is a new one-day celebration of books, magazines and the pleasures of print, brought to you by Libreria.
Taking over Libreria and Second Home Spitalfields, directly opposite the shop, the fair will bring together more than 60 publishers, magazines and independent print projects for a day devoted to books, ideas and discovery.
Expect new releases, cult backlist titles, works in translation, photography and art books, independent magazines, journals, zines and beautifully made printed objects from publishers including Fitzcarraldo Editions, Penguin International, W. W. Norton, Verso, Rizzoli, Prototype, Charco Press and many other dynamic publishers.
Typographia will bring together leading writers, editors, translators, and cultural figures to explore the forces reshaping what, and how, we read, alongside sessions with magazine editors working across food, design, fashion and travel.
The full programme will be announced shortly, but expect a series of significant conversations featuring figures including Gaby Wood, Chief Executive of the Booker Prize Foundation, and the cultural critic and novelist Geoff Dyer.
Typographia grows out of Libreria’s own approach to books: a belief in discovery, unexpected connections and the idea that how we encounter books matters almost as much as what is inside them. From Libreria’s distinctive David Adjaye-designed interior to shelves organised around ideas rather than conventional categories, design has always been central to the experience of the shop. Typographia extends that curiosity to publishing in all its forms.
Come for an hour or spend the day browsing, listening, talking and discovering something you didn’t know you were looking for.
And when the fair closes, join us upstairs for a closing party on the Second Home rooftop.
